We had a few comments on the blog asking about the potential lawsuit concerning the June 2010 election. To sum up, papers were served to the seven Board members on October 18, 2010 contesting the election held by WVH and Honest Ballot Association(the “independent” company which ran the June 2010 election). Select details can be found here at this link:
Posted on the site there is a brief overview of the case. In what seems to be an obvious attempt to apply pressure to the parties who have brought the case, plaintiff names were mentioned on the site. Also there is a message of “awareness” albiet somewhat of an editorial/warning of the costs and expenses of not only filing lawsuits in general against the corporation but, the cost to the corporation if a judgement were found in favor of the plaintiffs and an election were to held again. Some feel this letter/announcement posted on the WVH site is a bit of a slander campaign and is an alleged threat to others who might consider filing similar suits in the future. Oddly enough names, cost and attorney fees of the co-op for other cases are not mentioned. You can read the entire message online on the WVH site and if you want to read the court papers they can be found in the management office.
